How to modify root password on VMware vSphere ESX/ESXi 4 from vSphere Client

The root user is the user that has more privileges granted on an VMware vSphere ESX Server. For a few reasons sometimes we need to change the password of the user and there’s when our problems starts. From where I can change the root password?.

Here we are to help you solve this but first let us tell you that this simple steps are valid also for regular VMware vSphere ESX users.

The first step is to open up your vSphere client and connect to the server VMware vSphere Server.

Once connected  whe must click on the “Users & Groups” tab.

Then we must select the user, right click it, and click on “edit”

Select “Change password”, tye and confirm the new password and click “OK”

Verify on the tasks pane that the  Update User proccess is completed.
